The Holy Qur’an is the primary source of Islamic legislation and guidance, and the eternal miracle revealed by Allah to His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). It was sent as guidance for humanity and a mercy to all creation. The Qur’an is distinguished by its unique rhetorical and linguistic styles that convey meanings with the highest degree of precision. Among these styles, emphasis (Tawkīd) plays a significant role in reinforcing meanings, strengthening implications, and removing doubt from the minds of the audience. The problem of this study lies in examining the impact of the various forms of emphasis in clarifying the emotional dimensions of the Holy Qur’an, particularly in the verses related to mercy, punishment, and guidance, and in demonstrating the relationship between grammatical structures of emphasis and the emotional meanings conveyed by these verses. The study aims to explain the concept of emphasis, identify its types and stylistic forms in the Holy Qur’an, analyze its role in highlighting emotional meanings, and reveal its rhetorical and grammatical significance through a textual analysis based on the views of Qur’anic exegetes, rhetoricians, and grammarians. The research adopts descriptive, inductive, and analytical methods by collecting Qur’anic verses that contain forms of emphasis and analyzing them in the light of classical works on Qur’anic exegesis, rhetoric, Qur’anic sciences, and Arabic grammar. The study concludes that emphasis plays a prominent role in expressing the emotional dimensions of the Holy Qur’an. It deepens the meanings of mercy, intensifies the sense of fear of punishment, and strengthens certainty in divine guidance. Furthermore, it reflects an aspect of the Qur’an’s rhetorical inimitability and demonstrates the precision with which grammatical structures are employed to suit the context and intended meaning.
